A Little Slice of Heaven

If you haven’t heard yet, there is this amazing boutique that has the cutest and extremely reasonably priced clothes: Silo Apparel. If you follow and shop their line, bravo! You have found a little slice of Heaven on earth. If you haven't, check them out in about 3 minutes after you finish reading this. Adrienne is the owner of Silo and is celebrating three years of business at the end of April (ḉṏṆḠṙḀṮṠ ḠḭṙḶ!). She has three young daughters -7 and under- and a supportive husband Matt who so generously will be our potential first male model! She has accomplished a successful business and doesn't skip a beat as a mom. I'm also pretty sure she doesn’t sleep, so if you see her out and about at a pop-up event, get her a coffee. Better yet, she loves White Claw!

Some people may recognize that the photos Silo has been using are from me; others just read that sentence and figured it out. I give credit to our partnership for bringing back my excitement to photography. Between the models, Adrienne, and myself - we have SO much fun together. We laugh a lot, sometimes have a drink or two, and have created such beautiful friendships. I get so excited each time we have a session lined up. A few hours without a child yanking on me and I get to connect other moms? It’s an easy yes for me.

The clothes speak for themselves. I mean, C-U-T-E. Every time we are going to meet up, I have to mentally prepare myself, do not buy anything-do not buy anything-do not buy anything. Ugh. Then I do. Shh. Don’t tell my husband. Every piece of clothing I have purchased from Silo has been outstanding and long lasting. NOW LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE JEANS: wow. My favorite ever. KanCan has easily become my most treasured brand of pants since Abercrombie in the late 90's. You know the favorite kind: wear them 'til they have holes, then rock the holes in them until you can't anymore, then turn them into shorts, then get too fat to even think about wearing them. Finally, you will retire them to the bottom of the drawer as a keepsake of your favorite jeans. Well, you're welcome, because I have found your new favorite brand of jeans. These will last you years, they are so fabulous and the styles are endless. Just in time for summer, Kancan shorts are being sold now! Silo carries many different styles and sizes of them, and if you follow close, sometimes they will throw a wild sale on them (my fave sale was BOGO 1/2 off!).

Now, let's get personal. We've all had at least one experience with that giant retailer who kept giving us the run-around, the time that they finally shipped the clothes and they were horrifyingly the wrong size. Don't tell me I'm alone! I have had so many horrible experiences with retailers and buying clothes online. To be honest, at first, I had no clue that Silo Apparel was a small business. Adrienne is so personable and makes shopping easy; I truly thought that there was a giant line of people taking orders and answering questions. If something doesn't fit, it's her that sends you the correct size almost immediately and makes the return process stress-free. She has helped figure out what size I need and is quick to answer any questions I have. I would recommend this business 1,000 over. Soon, you will be an addict like me, then we can cry happy tears over our clothes and sad tears over our credit card bills. It will be fun, we'll cheers a glass of wine to each other.

Since we live in Minnesota and are surrounded by inches and inches of snow right now, it makes it tricky to do spring outfits outdoor. I mean, I'm not saying we haven't done it before - last year it was -10* and we went through with the session - let's just say, we don't prefer it (when I say we, I mean models in little clothing). We have recently been taking photos at Forest Flake Floral, hence the fantastic backdrops that seemed to have been made for our shoots! Get ready, there are some FABULOUS clothes dropping soon and I can't wait for you all to check them out!!

Silo Apparel does a ton of pop-up events around the area. You can try stuff on and get some awesome deals on the clothing! Most Tuesday nights during the summer, you can find them in Forest Lake in the park with many other local businesses.
